Beauty Queens Beware In Michael Steiner's Miss Switzerland Massacre

Today is the last day of FrightFest, which means that we have time for just one more bit of news for all the horror fans out there. Michael Steiner, director of Sennentuntschi: Curse of the Alps, spoke to Brendon about his next film. It's called Miss Switzerland Massacre, and it's about a group of Miss Switzerland contestants at a kind of beauty pageant boot camp, who are being slaughtered one by one before the prize ceremony.

I haven't seen any of Steiner's previous films so I won't pass judgment on how good Miss Switzerland Massacre will be. However, it does seem already to be falling into the breed of "eye-catching title, crappy film" horror that's starting to plague the shelves at HMV. By that I'm talking about films like Bikini Girls On Ice, Lesbian Vampire Killers, Nude Nuns With Big Guns and Zombie Strippers, which tend to market themselves heavily based on the promise of boobs and gore.

Just because it's a film about Swiss beauty pageant contestants getting slaughtered in creative ways, it doesn't necessarily mean it will be a boobsploitation flick. It just means that it should be.
