Diamond Announces The Retailer OlympicsLiving in London, it's getting hard to ignore the fact that for two weeks this year, our lives will be incredibly disrupted by the Olympics. While the rest of the world looks in in awe and wonder, I'll have to slog through an even-more-full-than-usual public transport system, probably with the kids in tow, just to get this week's comics. I know, I know, feel my pain.

Well, at the Chicago retailer summit before C2E2 this year, comic store retailers from around the country will be encoraged to compete in the Retailer Olympics, with disciplines including timed comic storage box assembling, timed checking in of a Diamond shipment, accomplished comic store displays and more.

I'm hoping for shoplifter sprints, copies of Turok #1 tossing and speed at which a retailer can dismiss digital comics after the issue is brought up…
