Matthew Vaughn Won't Direct X-Men: First Class Sequel, Heading Towards The Secret Service

Nowadays, It is almost expected for Matthew Vaughn to drop out of a job late on and go do something else instead. And so it has again come to pass as, according to Deadline, he is abandoning the director's chair of X-Men: Days of Future Past.
However, Twentieth Century Fox seem to know who they want to take over. They want Bryan Singer to replace Vaughn, with Vaughn then taking on Singer's producer position. Singer's been closely involved all along and wrote the first treatment for the film, so I think it would be a fairly sensible move from the studio.
Vaughn will be likely moving onto to direct another movie for Fox, adapting The Secret Service, the spy comic he created with Mark Millar.
Fox will be looking to nail down Singer, or some other director pretty swiftly as they are still aiming for the July 18, 2014 release date and that will mean getting the cast together in the New Year. With this in mind, expect a pretty quick turnaround.
