New Full Length Trailer For Richard Ayoade's The Double Starring Jesse Eisenberg
Two mysterious teaser trailers down, and the first full length trailer for Richard Ayoade's The Double finally clarifies the tone and plot of the mysterious comedy a little.
Jesse Eisenberg's rapid fire dialogue delivery is in top form here, as his character Simon finds his life turned upside down when a doppelganger, James, gets hired at his firm and no one seems to notice that they are identical in every way. Most frustrating for Simon, is when his love interest Hannah, played by Mia Wasikowska, doesn't notice it either and insists she's "never met anyone like James before." Ouch.
This looks delightful, and like a much more fun take on the doppelganger theme than, say, Denis Villeneuve's Enemy. Would make for an interesting double feature, I bet.
The Double comes out in the UK on April 4th and in US a month later.
