Scanning today's top headlines, it struck me how comics' devotion to its origins has so often taken us into strange territory. But 75+ years is literally a lifetime ago, and our founding creators could not have planned for where their ink and newsprint has taken us. If Detective Comics #27 and Action Comics #1 are our constitution, then Crisis and Zero Hour (and so on) are the amendments.
