The Comic Book Retailer Olympics At Chicago

This summer, London will host the Olympics and the Paralympics. And I will do my best to hide from it. Thankfully most of it will be happening in the East of London and I'll be out in the far South West but I know I'll get inconvenienced several times.

I'd much rather attend the Retailer Olympics, being organised at Diamond's upcoming Chicago summit, held directly before and in the same location as C2E2.

We reported this event earlier in the year, now we've got the details. Retailers, publishers and manufacturers, and Diamond employees are all eligible to take part. But I think the retailers will have the edge.

Participants will get an extra set of Summit variants to take back, with prizes for additional events and one gold prize winner

The events will be:

ComiCare Box Construction Contest: Champion is the fastest to assemble ComiCare boxes.

Speed Bag and Board: Champion is the fastest to bag and board 10 comics.

Overstreet Price Guide Lookup: Champion is the quickest to identify a selection of comics and their VG price listed in the guide.

Comic T Folder Shipping Race: Champion is the fastest to assemble comic T Folders with 2 comics secured inside each.

Diamond Box Check In: Check in a shipment perfectly, accounting for shortages and damages. Competitors will lose time for each item missed, and the champion will be the competitor that checks in perfect shipments the fastest!

Comic Book Trivia Master: All Summit attendees will receive 20 questions they might hear in their shop to answer and hand in before lunch. The three retailers with the most correct answers will be brought on stage at dinner for the final trivia challenge!
