The Crossover You Didn't See Coming – Sherlock Holmes And Kolchak
Joe Gentile of Moonstone Books loves detectives and he has come up with one of the most unique ideas I've heard of in a while. He is going to take two of the most beloved detectives of all time and put them into one novel, Sherlock Holmes & Kolchak: Cry For Thunder.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous Sherlock Holmes is one of the greatest literary characters ever created. Even know we see three incarnations of him (Benedict Cumberbatch, Johnny Lee Miller and Robert Downey Jr) all succeeding with their audiences.
In the mid-70s Darren McGavin came to television as a new type of detective, a reporter with a penchant for the supernatural. Kolchak the Night Stalker became a cult favorite and an inspiration for so many of the horror heroes we've seen in the four decades since.
In the novelization of the original graphic novel, Gentile takes the two unique investigators and have them working on the same case over 100 years apart. From the lawless wild west, to the hidden world of Victorian London to modern day Hollywood, the two doggiedly determined sleuths work the case tirelessly. Gentile has expanded on the original story, doubling it in size for the novel. The book has a cover by Doug Klauba and will hit shelves January 2015.
