Will Mark Waid Bring a Bad Superman to the Marvel Universe in August's Doctor Strange #18?

In August, Doctor Strange returns to Earth after his brief foray into the multiverse as a herald of Galactus. And Marvel's August solicitations reveal that Doctor Strange #18 will feature something that people will be talking about for years. There aren't many clues as to just what Mark Waid and Jesus Saiz have planned, but there is one big one. According to the solicit, a "truly terrifying villain is working their way into the Marvel U via a small house in Kansas."

Sure, this is pure speculation, but when you talk about a small house in Kansas, it's hard not to think about the farmhouse where Ma and Pa Kent raised Superman. And Waid is no stranger to writing villainous versions of DC's flagship hero, as his creator-owned Irredeemable series featured just that in the form of The Plutonian.

We'll learn more in August, but for now, we'll just have to speculate. Check out the solicit for Doctor Strange #18 below.
