2K Games Launches 2K Foundations With Community Projects
This morning, 2K Games officially announced the formation of a new program called 2K Foundations, aimed at supporting communities around the country. The goal of the program is to provide better assistance to communities through STEM programs and outreach, which included refurbishing basketball courts in twelve cities. You can see two of them below from Baltimore and Cincinnati. Check out the videos as well as a snippet from the program's info below.
With the support of local advocacy groups and communities, 2K Foundations plans to refurbish 12 basketball courts in multiple cities throughout the United States, including Cincinnati, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Chicago and Cleveland within its first year. The court refurbishments will feature environmentally-safe upgrades and offer resources to create local basketball tournaments and other positive endeavors that promote diversity, sportsmanship, learning and the positive power of community.
"2K Foundations is inspired by the basketball community and passionate NBA 2K fans who have been enthusiastic about their love for the game over the last two decades," said Jason Argent, Senior Vice President of Basketball Operations for NBA 2K. "Basketball has been so good to us, and we want to pay it forward to the communities that need it most, by helping to enhance the lives of youth both on the court and in the classroom."
