7-Eleven Is Launching A New App, 7NOW, at E3 2019
The latest company to announce they will be bringing something to E3 this year is 7-Eleven, as they will show off their mobile app 7NOW. In short, this will be the company's delivery app, which will deliver food, beer, and snacks from a 7-Eleven location near you. The company is partnering with Dr Lupo to bring a truck to E3 itself where you can get free Slurpees outside the West Hall entrance, with the Dr himself meeting fans at the Slurpee Truck on Wednesday, June 12th from 2-3 pm. What's more, the 7NOW street team will also be distributing 6,000 free special, security-approved bags to E3 attendees while supplies last, while on June 11th, another 12,000 bags will be delivered to the hotel rooms of E3 registered badge-holders. These will include gamer gummy chews (energy drink flavored) and 7-Select Energy energy shots. Here's a couple of quotes from the announcement.
"7-Eleven continues to research and develop new and innovative products and services to surprise and delight customers in and out of stores," said Gurmeet Singh, 7-Eleven's Executive Vice President, Chief Digital, Information and Marketing Officer. "7NOW is like a real-life 24/7 cheat code for gamers. In about 30 minutes or less—across 28 major metro areas including over 200 cities serving 23 million households—our always-on delivery service provides 3,000+ essential food and drink items as well as gaming accessory devices and more, allowing players to keep gaming at a high-level without interruption. Game on!"
"I'm excited to spend time at E3 with 7-Eleven and 7NOW. With streaming, I'm always on the move and being able to grab a snack here and there is perfect with the 7NOW delivery app!" said Dr Lupo. "Come grab a Slurpee and I'll see you all there!"
When I read this announcement, the first thing I thought was this is brilliant marketing. It immediately took me back to being a teen and going to the Sev for some snacks for an all-nighter at someone's house. Sure, the 7NOW app kinda removes the physical journey to the store, but it's a safe bet that thousands of gamers will try this out just to see how well it works during a session. Keep in mind, prices will vary on where you are, and are not all one price for the app.
