Amazon Reportedly Working on a Game Streaming Service
One of the more interesting news stories to come out this week is that Amazon is reportedly working on a streaming gaming service. The details aren't exactly clear how everything would work, but the gist of the story is that the company will use its cloud service as a point of access for people to play a subscription fee and play a variety of new and recently released video games, along with what will supposedly be a licensed game library from a variety of publishers. What's more, the service would also allow players to stream games to their mobile devices.
Amazon isn't the only company doing this, but they are the one who got the most attention this week (which we'll talk about later today) as they are a primary retailer for nearly every game company on the planet. As well as having the biggest social streaming services with Twitch under their umbrella, Amazon would nearly be able to turn themselves into a one-stop-shop for everything you need in gaming if you have no desire to own a console. We'll see how the service pans out, as the earliest for a launch date would be 2020.
