Bethesda To Remove The Requirement Screen In Latest "DOOM" Release
Bethesda Softworks will be sending out a patch for their latest DOOM release after Nintendo Switch fans rose up in anger online over the content. If you happened to purchase the Nintendo Switch version of the collection that came out yesterday, you may have come across the screen below went trying to access certain areas in the game. These areas stopped the gameplay and required you to have a Bethesda.net account in order to continue playing.
Needless to say, people were pissed, and wasted little time to take to social media to point out the fact that they just paid for a collection that they couldn't access without making an account on a website that already has issues connecting to the Nintendo Switch. The entire ordeal forced Bethesda to issue a statement on the matter, letting fans know a patch was coming to eliminate that requirement.
When the patch will go into effect is unknown at the time. If there's any bright side to all this, the DOOM collection was only $5 for all three classic titles. So it's not like people got cheated out of $60 for everything. But considering some of the issues Bethesda has had over the past calendar year trying to please their fanbase with different games, it didn't take long for people jump on the hate bandwagon over it. Hopefully, the patch comes sooner than later.
