Eric Hirshberg Leaves As Activision's CEO After Eight Years

Eric Hirshberg, who has been leading Activision as the company's CEO for the past eight years, will officially be stepping down from the role this March as the company looks for a new leader to fill the role. No real details were given as to the reason for his departure, only that he would be staying on for the next couple months until a new CEO was put in place. Below is a quote from Hirshberg from a press release about his departure.

"Serving as Activision's CEO has been an honor and a thrill. This is an amazing company. One which routinely delivers epic experiences for our fans on a scale that no one else can. I have nothing but admiration for the incredible team I have had the privilege to lead."

Hirshberg has been one of the more active CEOs of any gaming company in the U.S. and helped oversee a lot of the company's most successful titles during that time, including most recently Call Of Duty: WWII. He also had a hand in seeing several titles be produced including Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Skylanders, Destiny, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Now we patiently wait to see who will take his place.
