Falinks Shines In Pokémon GO For A Raid Day Event

Remote Raiders rejoice. Niantic will increase the limit of Remote Raids during the upcoming Shiny Falinks Raid Day event in September.

Article Summary

  • Shiny Falinks debuts in Pokémon GO during a special Raid Day event on September 8, 2024.
  • Raids will see increased appearances of Falinks, with a higher Shiny encounter rate.
  • Remote Raid Pass limit raised to 20 from September 7, giving players more chances for Shiny Falinks.
  • Special event bonuses and a purchasable event ticket offer extra Raid Passes, XL Candy, XP, and Stardust.

Falinks was one of the few Galar-native species that was released in a special Pokémon GO event that saw Dialga and Palkia manipulate time and space to give us a preview of this region years early. Now, however, Niantic is giving us a proper Galar generation reveal with the newly announced Max Out season. Currently, new species are introduced while the original Galarian releases are getting their Shinies unlocked in September. Wooloo and Skwovet will be Shiny-capable as of the GO All Out event early in September with Zacian making its Shiny debut in Tier Five Raids at the end of the month. Falinks will have its Shiny release during the newly announced Falinks Raid Day event. Let's get into the details.

Here's what's happening for Falinks Raid Day in Pokémon GO:

  • Date and time: Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
  • Event bonuses:
    • Falinks will appear more frequently in raids: This is the obvious one. We're getting a Shiny Falinks release, which will turn it from a species you see every so often as a GO Battle League encounter to an encounter you actually look forward to.
    • Receive up to five additional free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs
    • Increased chance to encounter Shiny Falinks from raids: If you have played previous Raid Days, you know that this is the event where the Shiny rate is highest. Raid Day Shiny rates have been reportedly observed to feature a one-in-ten Shiny rate. Compared to Community Days at one in 25, Legendary Raids at one in 20, Mega Raids at one in 60, and wild spawn odds at one in 500… that's high.
    • The Remote Raid Pass limit will be increased to 20 from Saturday, September 7, at 5:00 p.m. to Sunday, September 8, 2024, to 8:00 p.m. PDT. Another awesome bonus, giving Remoters a much better chance than expected to catch the Shiny. The fact that this starts on Saturday will help those who have Friends inviting them to Raids from overseas where the event will begin earlier.
  • Event Ticket: Niantic writes:
    • "For US$5.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency), you can purchase a ticket that grants the following bonuses: Eight additional Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (for a daily total of 14); Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles; 50% more XP from Raid Battles; 2× Stardust from Raid Battles. These bonuses will be effective on Sunday, September 8, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. local time. Trainers will be able to purchase and gift tickets to any of their Pokémon GO friends with whom they have achieved a Friendship level of Great Friends or higher. Please note that purchases—including those made for other Trainers—are non-refundable (subject to applicable law and the exceptions set forth in the Terms of Service). Tickets cannot be purchased with PokéCoins."
