Final Fantasy 7 Remake is Still in Full Development Despite Not Being at E3
Final Fantasy 7 Remake's director has taken to the press to assure fans that the game is still in full-scale development despite the game skipping E3.
It's been a long while since we've heard about Final Fantasy 7 Remake in any official capacity. The game was announced at E3 2015 during a rather mythical press conferenc, with the audience blowing the lid off the auditorium when it became clear what it was. However, since then, appearances of the game have been few and far between. It's why there were high hopes that the game would turn up at this E3.
That never came to pass though, prompting a lot of questions to if the game is doing okay. Well, speaking to IGN, the game's director Tetsuya Nomura said that fan's shouldn't worry. Nomura is currently finishing up Kingdom Hearts III, but even in his absence he assured fans that the game is well past the early stages.
It's not just in the early concept stages. We are actually in development. So right now, I've been putting 100 percent into Kingdom Hearts and 100 percent into Final Fantasy 7 and 100 percent into Kingdom Hearts and going back and forth.
That's nice to hear, and even though Nomura is currently balancing two of Square Enix's biggest upcoming games, it's exciting to hear that Final Fantasy 7 Remake is progressing. Once Kindom Hearts 3 hits in January, development on the remake will only speed up one would imagine. The real question is when can we expect the title? That is an impossible question to answer, but here's hoping, next year, after E3 has wrapped, we will have a better idea of what is going on.
