Game Gifting Added To Xbox One's Alpha Update
Some keenly-eyed Reddit users have discovered something awesome within the latest Xbox One alpha update. As you can see at this link, gift giving has been added to the latest edition of the preview program, which as indicated in that photo, you now have an option to select a game for purchase and give it away as a gift to another user on Xbox Live. As several people have pointed out, the only other console to have offered this in the past was the Wii, but that system was only for select titles and it was later removed from the eShop.
This may come as some good news to PC users who use the Xbox Live interface on their system, as Steam used to offer this on the regular but eventually changed their terms of service regarding it so that it was only available at the point of purchase to VAC-enabled games. Keep in mind that this system is still in alpha and hasn't been fully launched yet, so how the system will work is entirely unknown yet. But if Microsoft does the right things, they'll probably take a little bit from Steam and Nintendo and leave out all the dumb parts.
