Get Ready To Plan Your Summer Games Done Quick Speed Runs
Summer Games Done Quick, which is an annual speed-running charity and companion to Awesome Games Done Quick, is returning in a few months. The event runs from Sunday, July 2 to Sunday, July 9, and you can now check out the entire schedule.
The festivities start off strong with a one-handed Normal A Difficulty speedrun of NeiR: Automata by halfcoordinated and then gets a bit retro with Halo: Combat Evolved on Legendary difficulty by Garish. Personally, I'm looking forward to Andy's all dungeons sword-less run of The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. You can check out the full schedule here and plan your July 4th weekend accordingly. Because what's a better way to celebrate the birth of a country than by speed running video games?
There's just something so charming about watching other people flail their way through video games like they've got death chomping at their heels that really just makes family gatherings so much more bearable, no? And hey, SGDQ is a charitable event, so you're even giving back. SGDQ2016 raised nearly $1.3 million for Doctors Without Borders which is pretty darn awesome. Let's hope 2017 does it even better.
