Hands On With Horror FPS Inner Chains At PAX East

IMGN.Pro and developer Telepath's Tree will soon be bringing us a horror shooter called Inner Chains which has some delightfully gothic art attached to it and an absolutely terrifying story to go along with it.

The basic plot of Inner Chains is that in the distant future (several million years in the future), the Earth is the kind of gaping maw of the horrifying that you'd expect out of a game featuring biomechanical weapons and the remnants of human experimentation. Yeah, it is visually as gruesome as you can imagine. Due to the horrifying conditions of life on this future Earth, nature has come to adapt and resemble technology while technology worked to adapt to nature and thus – you have absolutely no idea what is organic and what isn't. A safe bet would be that most things have some organic components – as I found out just before dying to a flailing plant. Human society is pretty minimalist, humans having a dark ages type awareness of the world around them. Faith, oppression, and manipulation are still present because of course they are.

The gameplay is pretty much standard FPS gameplay where you're fighting for your survival while revealing the true nature of the world around you. My bet is, that nature is a horrifying.

Seems like a pretty safe bet, yeah?

Players can use their weapons and the environment against enemies which range from the human refuse left behind after bizarre experiments as well as the local plant life, subtle thriller moments, an atmosphere of terror created by the game's soundtrack which was composed by Michał Staczkun.

The game is still being worked on, but should be ready to freak you out in the comfort of your own homes pretty soon. The build of the game being demoed at PAX East is a pretty slick one with a solidly creepy atmosphere and challenging gameplay. If you're at PAX and want to check it out, Inner Chains is available for hands on time at the IMGN.Pro booth.

Inner Chains will be coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in summer 2017. The gameplay trailer does a fantastic job of showing off the game in action. You can watch it below.
