Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Gets A New Update To Portkeys

Niantic threw in a brand new update to Harry Potter: Wizards Unite that quietly fixed a few things, including portkeys. The devs are currently in the process of updating the game to version 2.12.0, and some of those changes mean small updates here and there with little fanfare. We have the notes from the latest update for you below with the changes that they made. The biggest change to what happened is that the Portkeys acquired after the update are going to have their distance requirement decreased by half for the time being. Why is this important? Because with everyone on lockdown or in self-quarantine, there's not a lot of people going out into the world running around playing wizards with each other. So the reduction was done for people who are traveling short distances or not at all and are basically just walking around their homes to get the requirement finished. With Niantic working on a stay-at-home version of Pokémon GO, it only makes sense that the devs are going to be implementing the same kind of system to Wizards Unite. It's just a matter of when.
