No Man's Sky Update Brings Base Building And Promises To Be 'The Start Of Something'

No man's sky

No Man's Sky is such a troubled name now. While I think the game is decent for what it is, it got eaten up and chewed out by the hype machine, and developer Hellow Games has come under a ton of fire since release.

However, this news proves they are at least on a path to try and regain faith. After launch, weeks were spent on patches to fix bugs, and now it seems free, new content is now on the horizon. In a blog post, the developer announced the Foundation Update. This will bring "the foundations of base building" and will put the game in a place for more content updates in the future.

The developer added:

It won't be our biggest update, but it is the start of something.

I have found some of the criticism of the game harsh at times, and I would love it if it reclaimed its name somewhat by lots of good updates like this one. It will be hard to get people to come back, but with enough time and content, I'm sure it could happen.
