Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks Spotlights Pikachu

Pokémon TCG has announced Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks, the eighth main set of the Paldean era, featuring Stellar Tera Pikachu ex.

We are just a few weeks away from the release of the next Pokémon TCG set, Scarlet & Violet – Stellar Crown, which will introduce Stellar Tera Pokémon ex to the game. While this set will drop on September 13th, we already have news about the next expansion. The final new Pokémon TCG expansion of the year has been announced, and it's finally giving us our Pikachu-themed expansion of the era. Let's take a look at everything we know about the newly announced Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks.

Just like Sword & Shield – Vivid Voltage gave us our Pikachu VMAX along with some chase cards, Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks will introduce a Tera Pikachu ex card.

The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Surging Sparks introduces players to more beautifully radiant Stellar Tera Pokémon ex, including Pikachu ex with its strikingly powerful Topaz Bolt attack. In this expansion, players can collect and battle with cards themed around the Terarium — an artificial paradise first introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk DLC for the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games—and discover the towering Alolan Exeggutor ex in its Stellar form alongside other powerful Dragon-type Pokémon. In addition, players can also discover Latias ex and Archaludon ex as well as new ACE SPEC cards, which continue to bring a twist to [the game.]

Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks will include:

• Eight ACE SPEC cards
• Nine Stellar Tera Pokémon ex and nine Pokémon ex
• 23 illustration rare Pokémon
• 11 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards
• Six hyper rare gold etched cards

The Elite Trainer Box will feature artwork of Stellar Tera Pikachu ex and a Magneton Illustration Rare promo card:

Scarlet & Violet – Surging Sparks is the eighth main series Scarlet & Violet-era expansion. It will adapt the Japanese sets Paradise Dragona and Supercharged Breaker, making this both a Pikachu and Dragon-themed set. The vibes are somewhat like Sword & Shield – Vivid Voltage meets Sword & Shield – Evolving Skies. This will be quite the way to end the year for collectors.
