Sony's Long-Awaited PS4 4.5 Update Sasuke Hits Tomorrow
Finally, we're getting the PS4 update we've wanted for so long. Update 4.5, also known as Sasuke, will be live on your PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro consoles tomorrow. The entire list of features added – and there are a lot of them – are listed below.
- Improved 2D Images on PlayStation VR – because everyone needs better graphics.
- Voice Chat for Remote Play – while playing your PS4 games remotely through PC, you can now use voice chat like a normal player.
- Off Console Availability – if you're logged in to the PlayStation Network but not on console, a cute little smartphone icon will pop up next to your name letting everyone know you aren't at home.
- Boost Mode (for PlayStation 4 Pro only) – Sony has said that boost mode will not work with all games, but it should help update the graphics for games which support boost mode. You can turn boost mode on from the settings.
- PS Messages and Communities App Updates – Sony is also updating the iOS and Android PS Messages and Communities apps, which will be nice. Those could use some love too.
- External HDD Support – This one is what I've been waiting for, because I need more storage space. Finally, we can use external hard drives on our PS4 consoles.
- Custom Wallpapers – Because sometimes you just want a photo of your cat as your wallpaper, okay.
- Quick Menu Refresh – Quicker updates on the menu make everyone's lives easier.
- Simplified Notification List – Should help keep your notification list from becoming an endless list of things you don't understand.
- Post on PlayStation Network Activity Feeds – So now you can get all the joy of Facebook and Twitter on your PSN profile.
- 3D Blu-rays on PlayStation VR – Because you're already wearing the funky headgear right?
