Steam Adds A New Gift Card System To Their Platform

Steam already has a number of issues going for it when it comes to gifting items, now they've just added a brand new item to the list that we're sure will get just as much criticism and be met with stern opinions. Steam has just added Digital Gift Cards to their system, ranging from $5 to $100 as possible pricing points. There are a couple catches to this, the biggest being the person you intend to send a card to must be your friend for at least three days. You can send to foreign countries, but the value will be transferred to whatever it is in their country, so $100 USD may be more or less depending on where it goes.

Steam Adds A New Gift Card System To Their Platform

The reason we say it may receive criticism is because of how Steam's current system of gifting games is in place and how awkward it currently is just to send a game to someone you like as a gift. If Steam can't even get that system to run properly, what are the odds that a gift card system will run any better? You can get full details on the system and how it operates by clicking this link.
