Sylvanas and Stitches Reworked in Latest Heroes of the Storm Patch

The latest update to Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm brings reworks to heroes Sylvanas the Banshee Queen and Stitches the Terror of Darkshire. The Sylvanas rework is designed to make her a more formidable opponent in team fights while also making her more rewarding for skilled players. The Stitches rework will allow him to make better use of his hook talents while also refreshing his other skills. Both reworks are available on the Public Test Realm server today.

The changes to Sylvanas include:

  • Health increased from 1425 to 1550
  • Health Regen increased from 2.969 to 3.23
  • Basic Attack damage reduced from 90 to 81
  • Withering Fire (Q)
    • Mana cost increased from 0 to 25
    • Damage reduced from 48 to 39
    • Adjusted functionality:
      • Pressing Q once fires 5 Withering Fire arrows at the closest enemy
      • Range increased from 6.25 to 8
      • Cooldown increased from 2 to 8 seconds
        • Cooldown now restores all charges
      • No longer gains charges on Minion kills
      • Nearby Hero takedowns now refresh the cooldown of this ability
      • Fire rate reduced from .188 to .375 (50% slower)
      • Withering Fire cannot be cast while a previous cast of Withering Fire is still firing
  • Shadow Dagger (W)
    • Mana cost decreased from 75 to 50
    • Duration increased from 2 to 2.5 seconds
    • Damage reduced from 37 to 29
    • Adjusted functionality:
      • Shadow Dagger no longer spreads to nearby targets each time it does damage. 
      • Damage done by Sylvanas to the primary target that is afflicted by Shadow Dagger spreads its effect to all nearby enemies.
  • Haunting Wave (E)
    • Banshee travel speed increased by ~6%
  • Black Arrows (Trait)
    • New functionality:
      • Activate to cause all Basic Attacks and Abilities to Stun Minions, Mercenaries, and Structures for 3 seconds over the next 10 seconds.  40-second cooldown
    • New Passive functionality – Banshee's Curse:
      • Basic Attacks infect enemies with Banshee's Curse for 3 seconds.  Sylvanas deals 25% bonus damage to enemies with 3 stacks of Banshee's Curse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Sylvanas Rework also includes some talent changes, which you can hear more about in the video below.

The changes to Stiches include:

  • Hook (Q)
    • Range reduced from 12.5 to 11
  • Slam (W)
    • Cooldown reduced from 8 to 6 seconds
    • Range increased from 8 to 9.5
    • Mana cost reduced from 40 to 30
    • Added functionality:
      • There are 2 effect ranges for the ability:
      • Inner Area = Deals 140% Damage and applies a 40% slow for 1.5 seconds
      • Outer Area = Normal Damage
  • Devour (E)
    • No longer has a .2 second cast time.
    • Now has a .2 second "finish" time.
  • New Trait – Vile Cleaver
    • Basic Attacks apply Vile Gas which poison enemies for 45 damage over 3 seconds. Re-applying Vile Gas increases its duration rather than resetting it, up to a 10 second duration.

Finally, today's Heroes of the Storm patch includes the experience and armor updates that were announced at BlizzCon this year as part of the 2019 Gameplay Update. Blizzard's goal with the update is to "refine the experience system to keep matches closer than ever. Additionally, armor no longer stacks, making this consistent with [their] movement speed buffs and debuffs."

Finally, the Toys Event is coming soon, bringing all-new toy themed skins, mounts, portraits, and sprays alongside some exclusive loot unlocked through the Toys Event quest line.

  • Cosmic Force Valeera Skin
  • Cosmic Lion Mount
  • Plush Unicorn Mount
  • The Kid Announcer
