Ubisoft Confirms Ghost Recon Announcement Later This Week
Last week Ubisoft teased an upcoming Ghost Recon announcement with advertisements for the fictional "Skellcon" and they've now confirmed that, yes, a major announcement is coming later this week.
As we previously reported, "Skellcon" is a reference Skell Technology, a fictional corporation from Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands. The convention is supposed to take place on May 9, 2019 at 11:30 am PT, which naturally means the company will be revealing something related to Wildlands on May 9th.
Today on the official Ghost Recon Twitter, Ubisoft confirmed that a world premiere announcement will take place on May 9th at 11:30 PT.
Given the World Premiere title and tease of an official announce trailer, it seems likely that fans will get their wish for a new game. Given the use of "Skellcon" to tease the reveal, the announcement is sure to be related to Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and may even be a sequel.
That, or it's the reveal of a whole new massive season of content for Wildlands. Though we wouldn't expect quite so much hype for that, but we're just speculating at this point.
You can watch the Ghost Recon World Premiere on the official Ubisoft YouTube channel on Thursday, May 9th at 11:30 PT/ 2:30 ET.
