WizKids Announces New Line of RPG Miniatures for Player Environments

Storytelling is Getting an Upgrade with All-New WarLock™ Dungeon Tiles

Hillside, NJ – April 22, 2019 – WizKids, the industry leader in high-quality pre-painted miniatures, today announced a new line of terrain building miniatures, WarLock Dungeon Tilesreleasing in early 2020!

First previewed at GAMA Trade Show in March, this all-new release will make it easier than ever before for players to create fully immersive environments for their RPG campaigns! WarLock Dungeon Tiles are 2 inch squares and are gridded in order to make it significantly easier to assemble new environments on the fly. Each tile is pre-painted, with two types of terrain, one on each side, adding to the versatility of these excellent pieces.

Additionally, WizKids has come up with a novel solution to the oft-cited problem of walls intruding on grid-space. The exterior walls are offset, and the interior walls are super thin, and can be placed between tiles with ease, preventing obtrusion onto the tiles themselves.

"WizKids WarLock Dungeon Tiles address a lot of the issues with current offerings on the market," said Justin Ziran, president of WizKids. "WarLock tiles are quick and easy to assemble, consisting of tiles and clips which will allow GMs to build complete rooms with walls and working features, are cost effective and available at retail, not just online – allowing for the ultimate player experience for everyone!"

About WizKids

WizKids/NECA, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NECA, is a New Jersey-based game developer and publisher dedicated to creating games driven by imagination. WizKids first pioneered the Combat Dial system featured in HeroClix, the leading collectible miniatures game on the market, with over 750 million miniature game figures sold worldwide.

At this time, we don't have any official images to share from Wizkids, but I have seen a few images that came out of a recent convention- these tiles have the potential to change fantasy role playing in a major way. How big? I'm talking Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures big.

Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures was one of the first serious contenders for low-cost, good looking miniatures for fantasy gamers, allowing game masters and players alike a great way to get characters and monsters on the table for very little money. Usually sold in packs with two miniatures, Nolzur's Marvelous Miniatures tend to run about $5.00 a pack.

The WarLock Dungeon Tiles could make a quick and easy way for game masters to bring a fully functioning dungeon to their games, and knowing Wizkids, won't break the bank.

The images I saw showed 2 inch by 2 inch tiles, which are double sided and click together with connectors.

Prior to this release, most of the 3D fantasy terrain systems out there have been for either expensive resin kits, files for 3D printers, or molds for DIY plaster kits. This is the first mass-produced fantasy terrain system I've seen!

We'll have more information on this as we get it!
