"Zombicide" Second Edition Enters Last Two Days on Kickstarter
The Zombicide franchise of games has been a rocking good time from CMON for years now, and any time one of these games goes up on Kickstarter you know you're going to end up with a metric ton of miniatures. The new second edition of Zombicide looks like it's not going to be an exception!
Zombicide: Washington, Z.C. will feature "all new art, miniatures, updated rules, fast setup, along with its well-known and acclaimed intense gameplay!" There are also a considerable amount of celebrity tribute minis, new maps and tiles, a new campaign system, and it looks like a role playing game will be available as an add-on to pledges.
The Reboot pledge level, which clocks in at $100 (plus shipping) is currently promising to put over 150 miniatures in your hot little hands. That's less than a dollar per miniature, even after you factor in shipping to most places in the world.
The new second edition of Zombicide takes place in Washington, D.C. after a terrible zombie outbreak turns the region into chaos. Players take on the role of one of the available survivors (there are plenty) and try to navigate the city, secure objectives, and rescue civilians.
The Zombicide Chronicles RPG is available as an add-on pledge for an additional $50, but it looks like backers can just select the RPG book on its own. The new Zombicide Chronicles RPG was developed by the folks behind The One Ring RPG, and incorperates a lot of the same game-play elements from the main Zombicide board game.
Frankly, the core pledge is too good a deal to pass up even if all you want is the RPG book. With over a hundred minis packed into the main box, plus a very intense and entertaining board game, it's a bit of a no-brainer.
The Zombicide: Washington Z.C. Kickstarter campaign ends on Wednesday, Novermber 6th, and has already raised well over $2 million in pledges. I backed one of these a few years back, and I'm still trying to paint them all!
