A Few Casting Rumors Involving Marvel Studios
I'm going to put these two together as there is some speculation on two casting rumors for upcoming Marvel movies.
The first has to do with Spider-Man and the whole Peter Parker / Miles Morales debate. On his new tumblr page Joe Quesada wrote in response to a question about the next Spider-Man movie: "The trick to making any incarnation of Spider-Man great, whether comics, animation or film is Peter Parker. Get Peter's character right and the rest falls into place."
Some are pointing at that as evidence that the next Spider-Man will still be Peter Parker.
Add to that a report from Bad Ass Digest that Marvel and Sony have auditioned 16-year old Mateus Ward for the role of Spider-Man. Ward has previously been in Weeds and Hostages. He would go along with both the idea of it still being Peter Parker and of them looking for an actual teenager and not someone who can play young.
Now we switch gears and look at another character. Word from Latino Review is that Marvel has already cast the role of Captain Marvel and she will appear at the end of Avengers: Age of Ultron as a brief cameo… but who they cast is still being kept a secret so fans can see the reveal on the big screen. I think we will see some cameos at the end of the new Avengers movie, but who exactly will be interesting to see… Black Panther and Doctor Strange are high on my list of probables.
It won't be too much longer before May 1st and we might get some answers.
