Armie Hammer Addresses Green Lantern Rumors
One of the names that has come up in rumors about a new Green Lantern has been Armie Hammer. The actor was once tapped to play Batman in a Justice League film that never happened and he's played opposite of Henry Cavill in Man from U.N.C.L.E. When the rumors started, Hammer decided to have some fun with it and post the occasional leading image or comment. But the truth is, Hammer has not talked with Warner Bros about the role at all and he's no longer going to be trolling fans. He talked with Collider about the whole thing:
I have nothing to confirm nor deny. The only talk of me being Green Lantern that I have heard in my life has only come from social media.
And as for the trolling on social media:
Man, jeez… It was fun for a while and now I'm convinced that everyone's gonna turn on me so I'm like 'Oh shit, slowly backing away.
Now, Warner Bros has announced a Green Lantern Corps movie will be on the horizon, but we're a long way from any casting notifications on that. The studio should keep Hammer in mind though as the rumors of his casting were received very positively on-line… and the DCEU could use all the positive on-line talk it can get.
