By Becoming President, Donald Trump Blew His Chance At A Role In Avengers: Infinity War
Boy, we bet Donald Trump is feeling really foolish right about now. On the heels of the embarrassing defeat of the Obamacare replacement bill, which was to be the first major legislation of Trump's presidency, Marvel is casting for Avengers: Infinity War extras in May, according to MovieCastingCall.org. That's right — if Trump hadn't run for and ultimately won the presidency last year, he would still be living in New York instead of boring Washington DC, and he'd be eligible to make a cameo appearance in the biggest Avengers film yet. From the casting call:
Avengers: Infinity War and Untitled Avengers Movie New York Casting Call
Central Casting is now accepting submissions for the Marvel feature film "Infinity War" in New York. To be considered, all actors and extras must be legally eligible to work in the entertainment industry in the New York and in the United States. That information is published in the 2017 New York Actors Resource Guide eBook. The film's directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, will be personally hand-picking the talent from the photos submitted. The following are the current casting needs:
MALES & FEMALES – Any ethnicity, who appear 18 – 50's, all types. Especially needed are people with New York looks, and also people with good character faces. Filming is tentatively scheduled for May 19, 2017. A wardrobe fitting could possibly be required in the beginning of May. You must have an open and flexible schedule, as the dates are very tentative at the moment. If you have previously worked on this film in any area, you are NOT eligible to be considered for these new roles. This is for NEW TALENT only, who have not worked on the film.
To be considered, please submit the following:
-Full Name
-Location
-Phone number
-All clothing sizes, including shoe and hat. MEN: Jacket, collar, sleeve, waist, inseam, and shoe. WOMEN: Dress size, bust/bra/cup, pants, waist, shoe.
-Two recent color snapshots, one from the shoulders up, and one from the knees up. Make sure the photos are clear and in-focus. Should be with a white or light color background, only you in the photo, and no hats or sunglasses.
Sure, President Trump is a few decades past his 50's, but we're sure Marvel would make an exception for someone of his celebrity stature. Who embodies the term "New York looks" more than Donald Trump? And he's certainly got a "good character face." He would be a shoe-in to get the part, if you ask us. Instead of having Marvel Chairman Ike Perlmutter over to Mar-a-lago to talk about veterans' healthcare issues, Trump could be hanging out with far cooler Marvel executive Kevin Feige. What a bummer!
And just think about how positive a reaction Trump would have gotten if none of this presidency stuff had happened and he was still a (by comparison) harmless rich and famous idiot, and then he just all of a sudden made a surprise cameo appearance during a pivotal scene in Avengers: Infinity War. Movie theater audiences would probably have cheered, or at least been generally happy to see him when he cameoed in the film, as opposed to the way crowds react now, which is to spontaneously gather in large protests of his policies. Instead of dozens of daily news stories from major outlets reporting on Trump's ineffectual leadership, erratic behavior, and connections with Russia, movie bloggers would be saying things in early reviews of the film like "don't miss the humorous moment where a major reality TV star appears after Iron Man beats up a bad guy outside iconic New York City landmark Trump Tower to spout his trademark catchphrase, 'you're fired!'" That would have been so much better, wouldn't it? You really blew it, man.
Of course, Melania could probably cameo in the film, since she chooses to still live in New York instead of moving into the White House with Trump. But you know who else is actually eligible to cameo in the film, since she still lives in New York? Hillary Clinton. She ended up coming out on top again, just like in the popular vote. That's the part of all this that probably hurts the most.
Sad.
Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on May 4, 2018.
