Bill Condon May Direct Disney's Live Action Beauty And The Beast

Disney is going full steam ahead on live-action re-imaginings of their own animated fairy tales. Now that they've done Sleeping Beauty (Maleficent) and Cinderella and Jungle Book, the next on their plate may just be Sleeping Beauty…

Film Divider tweeted that the man for the job is likely to be Bill Condon, who did Dreamgirls and the final two installments of the Twilight Saga.

 

 

A solid choice, if slightly uninspired. We pretty much already know the big, traditional retelling we'll get from him, don't we? I'm much more interested in what's going on with that long, long-gestating version Guillermo del Toro has been developing with Emma Watson attached to star.
