Captain Marvel Officially Begins Production
Despite a whole bunch of set photos saying otherwise, a PR email was sent out by Marvel Studios this morning announcing that Captain Marvel has officially starting principal production in Los Angeles, California. The email also stated that the movie will shoot in multiple locations around California, including Fresno, and in Louisiana, including Baton Rouge and New Orleans. The official Marvel Studios Twitter account shared the following image, which didn't make multiple Carol Danvers fans on the Bleeding Cool staff emotional at all.
We also got a few story details but they aren't anything specifically new when it comes to the character.
The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, "Captain Marvel" is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
We probably won't get much from Marvel between now and March. We know that Captain Marvel isn't going to be in Avengers: Infinity War so there is a chance that we won't get to see any footage of Captain Marvel until the inevitable Hall H presentation at Comic-Con International in July.
Captain Marvel, directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck, will also star Brie Larson, Jude Law, Gemma Chan, Samuel L. Jackson. The film is set for release on March 8th, 2019.
