We've been watching him flinging around various weapons all summer in The Avengers and Snow White and the Huntsman, and now Chris Hemsworth appears ready to get just a tiny bit more realistic for his next film. But he's not giving up on action completely. Currently filming in London, Ron Howard's Rush examines the rivalry between 1970s iconic Formula One drivers James Hunt, played by Hemsworth, and Niki Lauda, played by Daniel Bruhl.
Judging by the first footage from the set of the film, seen below, Howard is going for full on mimicry of the real life people and surroundings of the world in which his film is set. Hemsworth and Bruhl, in particular, look eerily similar to their subjects.
As someone who wouldn't be able to tell you the difference between F1 and Nascar, I have to say the footage does make the sport seem rather exciting, and Lauda's story in particular – a horrific crash followed by an incredible comeback, is very intriguing.
Rush, which also stars Olivia Wilde as supermodel Suzy Miller, will be released sometime in 2013.
