Donald and Melania Trump to Appear in The Queen's Corgi
If 'from the people who brought you Gnomeo And Juliet and Sherlock Gnomes' doesn't fill you with dread, read on.
Lionsgate UK has announced what is frankly an all-star cast for their upcoming animation The Queen's Corgi.
- Jack Whitehall is Rex, the Queen's Top Dog – a spoilt little corgi who lives a life of luxury in Buckingham Palace
- Ray Winstone is Tyson
- Julie Walters is The Queen
- Sheridan Smith is Wanda
- Matt Lucas is Charlie
- Tom Courtenay is The Duke of Edinburgh
- Jon Culshaw as Trump
- Debra Stevenson as Melania
- Sarah Hadland as Mitzy
- Colin McFarlane as Chief
- Nadia Wadia as Patmore
- Iain McKee as Jack
- Kulvinder Ghir as Sanjay.
Julie Walters playing The Queen sounds astounding. And Tom Courtney as Prince Phillip is the role he has spent his life waiting for. While Matt Lucas, Sheridan Smith and Ray Winstone play Rex's canine companions.
But also we have casting for President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump, who appear to be appearing in the movie. Not playing themselves, of course. Jon Culshaw is a regular impersonator on the BBC show Dead Ringers – though Trump is usually played on that show by the superior Lewis MacLeod. But Culshaw is more of a 'name'. Debra Stevenson also appears on that show, and voices Melania too.
The film is directed by Ben Stassen and Vincent Kesteloot, written by Rob Sprackling and John R. Smith
Rex is the Queen's Top Dog – a spoilt little corgi who lives a life of luxury in Buckingham Palace. But when Rex winds up in a London Dog's Home, surrounded by tough strays, he must learn that to become a true Top Dog, you have to earn it!
The Queen's Corgi is set for UK release on July 5th 2019, and an American release… well never, probably. Unless Trump wants to see it…
