Finally, Aaron Sorkin Could Be Writing Superheroes – Just Like He Always Has

Back in 2013, Bleeding Cool asked "How Can We Persuade Aaron Sorkin To Write Superheroes?" On the basis that in Sports Night, The West Wing, Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip and News Room, he had done little but.

They just didn't have capes, fly around the place or knock down buildings. Well, not as much. But they are full of people with bold ideals that get tied up in their personality flaws, make grandiose speeches of inspiration that they never quite live up to, and are genuinely, honestly, intending to save the day. And sometimes they jolly well do.

And yes, as we pointed out then, accused of being neo-sexist, racist, and blinded by privilege. Just like everyone else writing superhero stories today.

Comic Book had the great scoop, when asking Sorkin at CinemaCon in Las Vegas that he has meetings with both DC and Marvel lined up.

"I have to go into these meetings and tell them as respectfully as I can that I've never read a comic book. It's not that I don't like them, it's just that I've never been exposed to one. So, I'm hoping that somewhere in their library is a comic book character that I'm gonna love and I'm going to want to go back and start reading from the first issue on."

See, he hasn't even read a comic, he's perfect for Marvel and DC!

Someone send him a copy of the upcoming Justice League International Omnibus. Or The Authority. Or the first New X-Men volume. There's a lot to love.

Or maybe, he could pitch his very own thing…
