Fox TV Sends X-Men "Gifted" Trains To San Diego For Comic-Con #SDCC17

The sound of the train horn as it rides past my San Diego hotel binds me aurally to that place, San Diego Comic-Con. The tracks separating the San Diego Convention Center from the rest of the Gaslamp District were often responsible for Hollywood actors emerging from the suites of the Omni Hotel, missing their panel in Hall H after being stuck for half an hour as a very long train came through downtown San Diego. The walking bridge solves that now, but the haunting sound still lets us know we are where we belong, as a call to prayer to Mecca. This is San Diego Comic-Con.

And of late they've tarted up the trains as they go through, covering them in Ghost Rider chains for Agents Of SHIELD and the like. But what lucky show will be slapped on trains that have the fortunate honour to be travelling through San Diego on their long cross-continent journey? A vast fortune paid for the placement, whose only worth is to be seen in San Diego where there is a fighting chance the audience will have a clue what it'#s an ad for.

In 2017, it's Fox's new TV show The Gifted, based on the X-Men movies and Marvel license. With the phrases "Mutants Aboard – for your safety please keep your distance" and Mutant Transport from Sentinel Service. The website for Sentinel Services diverts to The Gifted's Facebook page.

The Gifted is created by Matt Nix, produced by 20th Century Fox Television in association with Marvel Television, with Nix serving as showrunner.

The series stars Stephen Moyer and Amy Acker as ordinary parents who take their family on the run after they discover their children's mutant abilities. Sean Teale, Jamie Chung, Coby Bell, Emma Dumont, Blair Redford, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Percy Hynes White also star in the show. The series received a put pilot commitment at Fox after a previous attempted X-Men series did not move forward at the network in 2016; The Gifted was ordered to series in May 2017.

The Gifted is set to begin airing on October 2, 2017.

H/T to the Valeyard.
