Ivan Reitman Talks About The Future Of Ghostbusters And Triplets
In a recent interview with Mr. Wavvy, Ivan Reitman spoke about his legacy as a filmmaker, Space Jam, Triplets, and the recent Ghostbusters Reboot and what the future might hold for the franchise.
While not addressing the question of Ghostbusters 2 specifically, Reitman responded:
There is [sic] going to be many other Ghostbusters movies, they're just in development right now.
So it would seem that even after the estimated $70 million shortfall that the reboot garnered, the amount made up in merchandising and alternative revenue forms is enough to keep the franchise at least on life support.
Beyond the segue into Ghostbusters territory, Reitman was also asked on the status of the long discussed sequel to the 1988 hit Twins which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito. The sequel's working title of Triplets has long had the idea of the third sibling being Eddie Murphy.
When asked if Triplets was still in the works and if Murphy was still under consideration to be involved his answer was a direct, "Yes", with the follow up that they were waiting on a script.
