Red Right Hand is a new action drama starring Orlando Bloom, Garret Dillahunt, and Andie MacDowell. It will be in theaters and on VOD on February 23rd. It is directed by Eshom Nelms and Ian Nelms from a script by Jonathan Easley. There is a lot to unpack in the film's trailer, which you can see below.

Red Right Hand Synopsis

In action-thriller RED RIGHT HAND, Cash (Orlando Bloom) is trying to live an honest and quiet life, taking care of his recently orphaned niece Savannah (Chapel Oaks) in the Appalachian town of Odim County. When the sadistic kingpin Big Cat (Andie MacDowell), who runs the town, forces him back into her services, Cash learns he's capable of anything – even killing – to protect the city and the only family he has left. As the journey gets harder, Cash is drawn into a nightmare that blurs the lines between good and evil. RED RIGHT HAND has the kinds of characters that leave an unforgettable imprint on you.

As I said, there is a lot to unpack here. First, I love that they cast Andie MacDowell as a ruthless drug kingpin. Orlando Bloom has been in all kinds of films, but I never expected him to be in one where he is this kind of John Mclaine-style action hero. Also, I love that his name is Cash. Magnolia fare is usually pretty escapist fun, so there is every chance this is better than anyone would think, so I will reserve judgment until I see it. At least on VOD, I do not think any theaters in my area will be playing this one.

Red Right Hand is out in theaters and on VOD on February 23rd.
