Man From U.N.C.L.E.'s Robert Vaughn Passes At Age 83
Robert Vaughn, who played the American spy half of Man From U.N.C.L.E., Napoleon Solo, passed away today from Leukemia at the age of 83. He started his career as Doctor Charles Leale on Medic in 1955 and would continue working until this year where he appeared in both The American Side and Gold Star.
Besides his turn as a television spy from 1964 to 1968, Vaughn appeared on Gunsmoke, Dragnet, Zorro, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Magnificent Seven, Bonanza, The Untouchables, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Lieutenant, The Protectors, Columbo, Centennial, Hanger 18, The Love Boat, Emerald Point N.A.S., The A-Team, Hunter, Murder She Wrote, Walker Texas Ranger, The Nanny, Law & Order, Coronation Street and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit… and that is only a tiny sampling of the man's career.
He also parodied himself in a sense when he appeared in BASEketball and Pootie Tang.
The actor is survived by wife Linda, son Cassidy and daughter Caitlin.
