Mark Millar's Starlight Gets A Star Wars Spinoff Screenwriter

Starlight CoverMark Millar and Goran Parlov's recent comic series Starlight from Images Comics is now moving forward at Fox as a motion picture as a Star Wars spin-off writer comes on board the project. THR is reporting that Gary Whitta who is already writing the Star Wars stand alone movie to be directed by Gareth Edwards, has joined on to pen the space adventure as well.

Starlight is about a space hero, Duke McQueen, who saved the galaxy forty years ago then returned to Earth where no one believed him. Years later, after he's settled down and grown up, he's lured back into space for one last adventure.

Simon Kinberg (X-Men: Days Of Future Past) is set to produce.
