Michelle Williams Is In Talks To Join Tom Hardy In Venom Solo Film
It looks like we might have another cast member for Sony's Venom solo film. The production, which was originally set to begin this month, is currently in talks to add four-time Oscar-nominated actress Michelle Williams to the cast, according to Variety.
Sources say Williams would play a district attorney and possibly Hardy's love interest. Sony had no comment on the casting.
At the moment, we don't know much about this Venom movie aside from the release date and the star. The current rumors suggest that we'll be getting our first live-action version of Carnage, but that hasn't been confirmed yet.
Scott Rosenberg ("Jumanji") and Jeff Pinkner ("The Dark Tower") will write the script for "Venom," with Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach producing the movie, along with Amy Pascal. Palak Patel and Eric Fineman are overseeing the project for Columbia Pictures.
Venom won't have any connection to the current Spider-Man movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie isn't due out until October 5th, 2018, so we can expect production to start any day now. Ruben Fleischer is directing and Riz Ahmed is rumored to also star.
