"Mulan": New Clip Shows Off Donnie Yen's Commander Tung
The promotional push for Mulan continues as the release date gets closer. The early box office numbers, at least domestically, look pretty promising but with a massive budget of $200 million this movie needs to make a lot before it starts breaking even. There is a lot on the line here for female-centric movies and female directors being given six-figure budgets. If this fails it will be seen as a failure of movies with Asian protagonists, for female directors, and for female-centric stories regardless of how Black Widow or Wonder Woman 1984 do later this summer. IGN got their hands on a clip of the movie where we get to see the ever fantastic Donnie Yen in action as Commander Tung.
This is just a short clip but it is a good tease about what kind of action scenes we can expect from this movie and they look pretty sweet to us. There are a lot of promising things about this remake and so far the early reactions on social media are pretty positive but we'll have to see when it comes out later this month.
