Netflix To Pick Up Failed CW Pilot Insatiable
When CBS didn't want Supergirl anymore, the CW grabbed it. When Fox didn't want Black Lightning, the CW grabbed it. What happens to shows the CW doesn't want? In the case of Insatiable it gets picked up by Netflix. Deadline is reporting that the streaming service is working on a deal with CBS Television Studios to make the series into a Netflix Original.
The series stars Disney Channel Alum, Debby Ryan as Jessie, a bullied teen who enters into the world of beauty pageants to get revenge on those who tormented her. The series also includes Dallas Roberts, Alyssa Milano and Christopher Gorham.
This is not the first time a streaming service has picked up a failed TV pilot. In 2015 Giovanni Ribisi's Sneaky Pete was passed on by CBS, but salvaged by Amazon… which has lead to a second season of the series.
