New Behind-the-Scenes Featurette for The Predator

The Predator got its early box office predictions today, and it's looking okay so far. It's still a little too early to tell, and no one has really seen the movie yet that can talk about it. That doesn't mean Fox isn't promoting it though. Today AMC Theaters got an exclusive behind-the-scenes reel that shows off some footage and talks to the various cast members and director Shane Black.

We hear Black say that this is the scariest one in the series so far, which is an interesting proclamation to make. It's still up in the air whether or not this movie is going to work, but its box office take is going to be telling regardless. This is the movie Disney will point to as proof that no one wants high concept, bloody as hell, R-rated science fiction movies anymore. This one might be worth supporting regardless of your interest level.

That and Black is an awesome director who could use another win.

Summary: From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

The Predator, directed by Shane Black, stars Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Keegan-Michael Key, Olivia Munn, Sterling K. Brown, Alfie Allen, Thomas Jane, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey, and Yvonne Strahovski. It will be released on September 14th.
