The New Trailer For 'Cars 3' Is Surprisingly Dark And Meta
The common consensus is that the Pixar's Cars series isn't their best but they need a series to sell toys and if Cars 2 got us The Incredibles 2 then it seems like a fair trade. The promotional material for Cars 3 is teasing a very different movie. The idea of a horrific crash, or accident, forcing Lightning McQueen into retirement and he needs to work to get back to top is the same story told in every sports movie. However, those movies aren't usually geared toward the audience that will go to a Cars movie. The problem with the Cars movies is that they've been kind of empty for Pixar movies but maybe this one will be the great one in the trilogy.
Lightning McQueen sets out to prove to a new generation of racers that he's still the best race car in the world.
Cars 3 will be released on June 16, 2017.
