First Poster Revealed for Ocean's 8
The future of film is female, and one movie that escalates that perfectly is Ocean's 8. A spinoff movie from the Ocean's 11 series, which spawned two good movies and one that we don't talk about, Ocean's 8 stars an entirely female cast looking to rob the Met Gala. It features a truly stunning cast, and we got our first poster from Entertainment Weekly this week.
Star Sandra Bullock told EW:
"It's really fun. Imagine all eight of us crammed into a makeup trailer in the morning. You think that it would be disastrous, but it was heaven, all of us just sharing information, all of us doing three jobs with families, our other jobs, the juggling. And then we get to shoot this movie together."
In a year when it has become more and more apparent that women need to look out for each other when it comes to safety in the world, it's lovely to hear that these women all got along. Years ago jokes were thrown around saying that an all-female Ocean's 11 wouldn't work because it would be nothing but cattiness and bitching, but it sounds like this cast just might blow that right out of the water. Women work together without our periods getting in the way. Imagine that. So let's hope this movie kicks butt to prove that a group of women pulling off a heist isn't an easy punchline.
Summary: Debbie Ocean gathers a crew to attempt an impossible heist at New York City's yearly Met Gala.
Ocean's 8, directed by Gary Ross, stars Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, and Helena Bonham Carter. It will be released on June 8th, 2018.
