Pierce Brosnan Returns To Television For AMC's The Son
Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan returns to the small screen for a new AMC series called The Son. Based on the novel by Philipp Meyer and tells the tale of Eli McCullough, known as the First Son of Texas. The story is told split between two time periods: 1849 when a young Eli was with the Comanches and then sixty years later as Eli tries to manage his cattle empire during the Bandit Wars of South Texas.
Brosnan is no stranger to television, making his mark with a five season run on the hit series Remington Steele, but was famously kept from making the jump to Bond the first time because of his contract with the show and the role went to Timothy Dalton. After Golden Eye in 1994, Brosnan has only returned to TV once in a two-episode mini-series called Bag of Bones. This is his first extended television work since he appeared as Phileas Fogg in an Around The World In 80 Days mini-series in 1989.
The Son also stars Henry Garrett, Sydney Lucas, Zahn McClaron, Carlos Bardem and Jess Weixler. The series consists of 10 hour long episodes starting in 2017.
