Robert Downey Jr Says Sherlock Holmes 3 Is Filming This Year
Since the last time Robert Downey Jr. stepped into the role of the world's greatest detective he has played Tony Stark three times (Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War) and that was just in five years. Now the star is talking to Shortlist about returning to the world of Sherlock Holmes and when that might happen.
We're talking about it right now. We can do some preliminary stuff.
Downey admits that it has been his busy schedule that has kept the franchise from moving forward.
If we could shoot it on Skype, we could have the whole [movie] done in a week. When we're making those Sherlock movies it is off the hook. [So] we'll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I'm tired all the time, but I'm so excited about it.
He plans on speaking with director Guy Ritchie about the project when he's in London on the Civil War promotional tour.
He'll say 'I'll meet you on my bike', all that sort of macho stuff. I've always considered riding a bike in London as taking your life in your own hands. Guy makes it look easy.
Downey has played Holmes twice opposite of Jude Law as Dr. John Watson.
