Season 2 Of Marco Polo Gets Darker
We are two days away from the release of Marco Polo season 2 on Netflix. The first season was the first thing I'd ever binge-watched, getting caught up in the first couple episodes late one night after "giving it a try" and finding myself watching the last episode as the sun rose the next day.
In the feature below, the cast and crew tell us about the new season and how its an exploration of the characters as much as the historical moments. That the second season will be darker, not because it was the direction they wanted to go, but because with the characters now well established they can dive deeper into them and the battles they are waging within are as fierce as those they fight on the battlefield.
Joining an already impressive cast that includes Benedict Wong, Joan Chen and Lorenzo Richelmy will be martial art film legend Michelle Yeoh and the Usual Suspects actor Gabriel Byrne who spent 5 years in seminary school learning to be a priest and is now going to play the Pope.
Marco Polo season 2 will be available on Netflix starting July 1st.
