So… LEGO Dimensions Could Be Pretty Expensive All Told

lego_dimensions11

The big news today has undoubtedly been the reveal of LEGO Dimensions, which will bring the brick building company into the toys-to-life spectrum.

Unsurprisingly, the game's going to come with a whole bunch of extras you can put on top of the already expensive starter kit. In the UK, the conversion rate doesn't seem to have touched the pricing as the starter set is $99.99 in the States and £99.99 in the UK. For those who know their conversion rates, that isn't a 'fair' deal.

On top of that though, there are Wizard of Oz and Back to the Future DLC amongst many others. As pointed out by VideoGamer, if you were to pick up everything that is available pre-release right now, it would come to around £350.

For Americans, that is near $516. That is an absurd amount to spend on a peripheral toy. Of course, you don't have to buy all of the content, but even still, a £100 buy-in will be a lot.

Here is a full list of the content available:

Starter Pack
Level Pack – Back to the Future
Team Pack – Ninjago
Fun Pack – Wizard of Oz Wicked Witch of the West
Fun Pack – DC Cyborg
Fun Pack – DC Wonder Woman
Fun Pack – LEGO Movie Unikitty9
Fun Pack – LEGO Movie Benny
Fun Pack – Ninjago Zane
Fun Pack – Ninjago Jay
Fun Pack – Ninjago Nya
Fun Pack – Lord of the Rings Gollum
Fun Pack – Lord of the Rings Gimli
Fun Pack – Lord of the Rings LEGOlas

LEGO have a dynamite franchise on their hands. I really hope they don't run it into the ground with extortionate pricing.
